Bookending Summer: Lemonade Stand Tag + Short Hiatus

Hi guys! Here is my post for Bookending Summer, hosted by Clo @ Book Dragons and Sam @ Fictionally Sam, and this tag was created by Jeimy @ A Novel Idea. 🙂

Sour: A character that left a sour taste in your mouth.

The first one that comes to mind for this is still Peter Kavinsky. I’m not sorry. XD I just don’t like him at all.

Semi: A scene that was bittersweet.

I think both the endings to both of Cait’s books were pretty bittersweet. :,)

Sweet: An ending too sweet for words.

The ending in this is pretty sweet. I just didn’t expect to fall in love with these characters so much! ❤ ❤ ❤ :,D

Slushie: A book that was completely refreshing.

Back when I read this in February, I still had a sour taste in my mouth from reading To All the Boys last fall. I was starting to doubt that there were any contemporaries left that I would actually like, and that they would all be annoying romances that would make me angry. But then I read this, and wow. The writing was amazing and the story was so intriguing! I actually liked the romance and it all was so much better than I was expecting. I even gave it 5 stars! It definitely restored my hope in contemporary. 🙂

Hiatus News:

So that’s all for this short little tag! But first I want to talk about going on a hiatus…

I was going to do three more posts for Bookending Summer, but I just have been so weirdly stressed and overwhelmed lately. Some things I see on the internet I’ve noticed seem to trigger my anxiety and cause me to have a negative attitude that I carry into my “real” life that I don’t want, so I thought it might be time for a short break and maybe go on a kind of internet detox. (To be clear, I don’t have a problem with anyone and I’m not involved in any drama myself, it’s just that I’m sensitive and some things I come across, even in passing, have a deeply negative affect on me. :/)

Also, I’m way behind schedule with Camp Nanowrimo and finishing my WIP, and I really want to still try to finish it this month, though I don’t think it’s going to happen, but I want to try my best.

I also still really want to do a post on my thoughts on the new Hunger Games prequel that was announced in June, but that may have to wait until August, though I know it won’t really be relevant anymore. (Though do I ever actually post anything relevant? XD )

So with that said, I think I just need to take the rest of the month off to focus on work, writing, and my mental health, and maybe not having an extra thing to worry about will help.

There is a Top Ten Tuesday post I really want to do on the 30th, so I will be back then, and then after that we will see how August goes. Thank you for your patience with me and I hope you have a good rest of your July! Wish me luck with my WIP! ❤
